Beware of SLS and especially its level2 shop PLAY EDGE 02-59!!

This is seriously an experience i tink i must share wif everyone.. One of the most ridiculous one that i have ever experienced.. And it goes like this..

This afternoon when i arrived at that damn SIM LIM SQUARE level 2 black shop PLAY EDGE wif my fren,i went in casually wif my fren and approached one of their f****dup staff and told him about my situation that my gf had gotten the set for me the previous day and i'm looking for a game title exchange becos its not my desired kind of game..

Upon hearing that,he brought me over to their ps3 games counter and politely asked me which game i wanted to change. So i mentioned i wanna take a look at winning eleven 09 and little big planet. That guy told me his little big planet was in his store and that he would get it for me.. At this point i was quite surprised that everything was going so smoothly..

After he came back wif little big planet,here comes the action.. First,he asked me so wat was my choice or do i wan both.. Then i told him i'd get little big planet. Immediately he took out his calculator and did some calculations. Then, he showed me his calculations and told me that i just had to top out "$75" for the exchange! Than i told him how can that be? He knew its inpossible that i'm going to pay that amt,so he did some calculations again and said he would give me some DISCOUNT and i only need to pay $55 more. And he even had the cheek to tell me he can only take in my game at $65 when the game was bought from them a day earlier at $85 and they agreed to do the exchange shld i not like the game..

So i argued the point and he countered me wif,"ok,actually the original price we are selling for little big planet is {{$149}} and if u wan us to take in ur game at $89,then u will still have to top up $60. So at $55 actually i already gave u a discount." And he told me his little big planet was IMPORTED from HONG KONG so it was so expensive. Ok,so i asked him how much was the winning eleven then,he told me ($118).

By this time i was already quite frustrated. So i said to him how can a game be so expensive when the market price from all other shops only 70plus to 80 dollars. Then he told me"u dun tell me about other stores! i dunno about the price of other stores la. I have my own prices others have theirs. U cannot expect me to follow the price of other stores ma."

Since he said that,i have nothing more to say so i told him in that case i dun wanna exchange anymore and went out. I immediately rang my gf and told her about it and she was so irritated that she rushed down from work immediately after work to meet me at SLS. In the meantime while i was waiting for her,i went to sony square one storey above to chec out the standard market prices of the games at sony square and they actually are selling winning eleven 09 at $72 and little big planet at$69. I really cannot believe a someone doing business can be so dishonest that even when he knew i know that he's cheating me wif his pricing he still did it in ur face anyway.. In my opinion it is worse than daylight robbery my god..

When my gf arrived abit later,we went straight to the shop again.. This time it was abit different cos there were some other customers in the shop. When i went in earlier there were no customers. My gf stormed in angrily trying to look for the guy who served her yesterday.. But another guy who was there yesterday when my gf bought the set came up to us recognising my gf telling us the guy who served her yest was on off today and that he could serve us. Maybe he didnt wan us to kick up a stir in the shop to affect his business so he immediately asked us wat game we wanted and that he would do the change for us. So i chose my game while my gf gave them a little of her talking haha.. She also mentioned to them that the guy actually told her their most expensive game in the shop was only $98 so how can there be a $149.. Finally i decided on Metal Gear Solid 4 as recommended by fellow forumers here and he wanted us to top up $10 as MGS4 indeed is the most expensive game in the shop!

To save all the other potential hassle and irritation.. we just topped up the balance and left keeping in mind that MGS4 is worth that bit of carrot chopping haha..

Thats the end of all the drmam that happened earlier while getting my game change. Was glad that at least i still managed to get the game changed.. Wont ever go back to SLS to get any gaming stuff and just to highlight that damn SH** shop again "PLAY EDGE" totally no business ethic or professionalism at all!

Just to add on,in the first place my gf was already cheated by them to get the 80gb local console,one R&G HDMI cable and one "old" game splinter cell double agent for $740.. But not her fault bcos she's not familiar wif the reputable gaming shops but she wanted to give me a surprise by getting me the ps3..

here is my story,it will be long

the mistake and chance of scam is actully partially cause i so wanted a FeliciaBlue colour of modded PSP,cause my gf likes the colour.
had i not wanted this colour i would have avoided the place and go to some trusted places like Qisahn or SeowChoon or etc.


Extremely Unwanted and Unpleasant experience at shop 02-59 Play Edge

i went in the shop to ask for a FeliciaBlue modded PSP,a sales assistant attended to me,i shall named him as XYZ as i dont know his name.

XYZ say if i wanted a felicia blue will be rather expensive but he is able to give one modded one to me together with a 4GB memory card full of games at the agreed price of $410.
(at this point i am delighted as i thought i found the right one,never did i expect i am a soon to be slaughtered lamb)

XYZ then take the FeliciaBlue set out and demand i pay $410 for the whole set.
(due to my alertness and awareness are dropped caused of the delightness of the hard to find felicia blue) i pay him $410
i know my mistake here i really should have check all the things like whether the set is already modified or not before paying

the funny thing starts happening after my payment in cash.
XYZ seems to get busy start serving other customers and putting me on hold,as and when return to me and continue to ask me if i wanna buy other accessories.

i again bought another protective cover and pouch at $40 after cutting down the price of $58 which he initially quote me!!!! the price is ridiculous how can these two items cost $28 each?
oh well ok $40 then

the real shocking thing come after all purchasing $410+40=$450

1.upon i leaving,the shop assistant never even remind me to check all items if i have missed any items behind!
*lucky i check and i found that XYZ have not even pass me my 4GB memory stick!

2.upon leaving again i ask for my receipt,XYZ initially say its with me,but i check and reconfirm its not with me and is still with him!!!! he then say Oh i forget its here! he take the receipt out from his pocket!
my goodness i cant imagine what will happen if i forgotten the receipt!

3.i ask him again about the 4GB free of games that he initially promised me,he say it takes a few hours to download and transfer the games ,besides he dont have a pc to transfer them to me.and say he can intro me a few websites to download myself
*goodness gracious i starting to realise i may be scammed and too late,already start feeling that this sales assistant has no business ethics and very dishonest.fine its just downloading

4.i re-ask him that so my felicia blue set confirmed can play downloadable games and modified?
he told me that he removed a chip that blocks the capability of playing download games.i just have to load in the m33 software into my psp will do.then it all can be played
now this is fresh and even more weirdo 1st time to hear such things,i already feel that i had being scammed.i argue with him that he initially say the price we agreed is everything modded why now everything is so diff.
he again reassure me that once i download the software and loaded it in,everything will be fine.
IF cannot then go back to him and pay $180 again ,he will then help me modified till can play.

i was like WTF?
i pay $410 for a modded PSP yet now i still need pay another $180 to get it modded?


i left the place as its quite late and return home to try the software.and realise it too late that indeed i am being scammed

the next day i visit a few shops,they all tell me my psp cant be modded one.high chance i am scammed.

i return to argue with XYZ he now turn to another person say that if i dont know how to do it ,i pay $180 he will mod it for me.i already is extremely angry that its totally not the real thing that we agreed with the price that i pay for!
i wanted my money back but that fellow simply say
:"the receipt u sign liao hor,good sold are not refundable,u want u can go police report me lor"


later stage i check with some one regarding this issue and ponders why XYZ claims he can mod the set with a price of $180,when other shop simply say they cant mod it

one online friend tell me high chance he will take my money and then bring the PSP to a place ,replace the FeliciaBlue cover onto a reconditioned old working PSP and pass to me nia.

i strongly believed its possible as this shop already is so black and the assistant is of no integrity and dishonest,what more is it impossible to happen.

thus i rather not patronise the shop and not even interested to let them eat another $180 of my money anymore



the price i pay for the lesson is severe $450 all due to the expense of wishing to get a set with the colour my gf loves.


let this be a reminder for all and myself to think twice and stay alert on everything that u all are purchasing


02-59 Play edge shop is indeed a very black shop,pls avoid the shop at all means.

I really pity all these bro got cheated but one thing was that i dun understand is why ppl post so many scam cases in this forum and yet there still heroes to test the water whether is deep or not? Probably these ppl got too much $ and dunno where are the better place to spend. I do not want to stop ppl from buyin but u all can open up ur eyes and read the comments that others bro had given. I went to playedge 2 days back, wanted to buy ps3 (I din't know that Sim Lim was a bad place to buy PS3s) so I went in and asked the guy what the price of a PS3 was.

he told me $480, I was like oh, okay thats a good price. And the guy told me that IN ORDER TO CONNECT TO INTERNET MUST BUY A NETWORK CARD FOR $55!! I din't know that dun nid, so I said yes and started picking some games and then the boss came along and asked me "Eh, brother, Are you Singaporean?" So I said yes.

Then he went on in a lower voice, "Then why you buy disks from me? I teach you la, I help you put in this network card, it will cost you $300+. Once I put it in you can buy things from Sony Playstation store. Its completely legal and you will get games for about $5-$10. normally right, if you buy from Sony it will cost $500 lor. Then right, if you don't want to buy it you can also download games from internet free, but illegal la!"

I so noob, don't know anything about ps3 ma so I said yes. Then he went on about some region thing that would cost me $100 and I said yes again because it sounded important

Still have lor... Fan (he claimed that the ps3 cannot work for more than 1 hour or else will overheat, so must buy fan), HDMI cable (sell for $280 sia, pain heart...)

so u mean u kenna scammed $400plus? u actually gotten the stuff from him ah.. now then i know my gf was rather lucky only kenna chopped tens of dollars.. i seriously tink everyone who know that they kenna scammed from the shop shld report it to CASE even though they might not take any action against. one or 2 cases might not be significant.. but when alot of ppl report together i believe somehow action could be taken against them.. they are seriously more and more incorrigible now that they tink no one can stop them.. $400plus more to me is equivalent of cheating liao.. how can a customer be allowed to be cheated to pay so much more and yet its not an offfence? i know its the customer willing to pay.. but seriously half the time customers are naive and dunno wat they are paying for.. but 99% of other stores in sg dun exploit that and extort money from customers wat give those damn sls **** shops the rite to do that.. the best way to do is really all the involved victims write in to CASE or something at least make this issue heard,in my opinion.. if no action,nothing will be changed.. if something is done,things may change for the better..

bro u have to understand that this forum is not that popular that everyone including noobies know of.. and when they go to sls to buy things its becos they had the impression that sls sell cheap electronics becos of their old time reputation..they do not participate much mayb becos they are not active forumers but just wan to warn ppl not to get cheated in the future out of good intent.. and for one,i'm a participant who check back at the thread quite often haha

haha bro i know of this forum quite long already from visiting hardwarezone.. u can see from my join date ma.. cos i dun have ps2 so only until i gotten the ps3 then become more active cos found that this site can share alot of gaming info ma .. btw,actualli i knew all about sls long ago..but my gf dunno and i have no idea she's getting it for me ma..so when she got cheated i very angry so decided to share the incident and warn ppl once again of those sls arsholes lo.. and btw i totally agree wif u on ur point quoted.. in fact been researching for close to few mths be4 getting the ps3 but in the end my gf got it instead haha..
