Question PS3 maintenance

I would like to know how you guys out there keep maintenance of your PS3. Theres a quite a bit of threads lately of PS3 going down (lens, overheat etc). So basically, here you can share what you guys do to keep your PS3 in top condition. Cheers

Re: PS3 maintenance

i use feather duster to wipe the radius of the ps3 and use a microfibre cloth to wipe dust on the ps3 itself.

yea ...

IMO, if got dust, ok wipe it...

if nothing!, just leave it alone (other than taking in and out disk)

i try not to move it at all.

Re: PS3 maintenance

my ps3 40g only 3 months old and the disc is always inside the ps3.
For the first few weeks i vacuum the ps3 and the area around it. New things mah will take care of it like gold. Then when i play dmc4, the game keep freezing. Must off internet connection.

Now want to clean ps3 also sian liao. Become 1 month clean 1 time. Surprisingly, now dun have any game freeze problem liao.

Re: PS3 maintenance

ya i am amazed at ppl doing all sorts of house keeping on their ps3. Seriously do u think its an animal that needs regular morning exercise?

Must be their 1st game console. Tell me if u regularly clean ur dvd player. My sega saturn, dreamcast and ps2 after about 8+ years usadge never broken down before. The only need u need to do is making sure no objects blocks the vents at the sides during playtime. Thats it.

Re: PS3 maintenance

Maintenance: Keep it covered from dust when not playing. Switch on/off CORRECTLY. Even better if PS3 in air con room. To sum it up... treat your PS3 nicely, it will be nice to you too

No worries So far to summarize is to leave it alone and wipe the dust. however if there is still anyone out there who did other stuff, feel free to share. And thanks again guys for the contribution.
