Wii Error Codes: 52230 & 51330.

Hi Wii owners!

I just got my Wii but I am unable to connect it to the Internet. I tried the channels 1 and 11 but they both got error codes 52230. Then I read somewhere to try channel 6, to which I got a different error code: 51330. Again, googling does not seem to provide solutions.

I've disabled WPA2 encryption and set the router to DMZ mode. But the problem still persists.

Was wondering if any of you here experience the same thing. I'm on Singnet 10Mbps plan with the 2Wire 2700HG modem-cum-wireless router. Any suggestions?

Hi,
You might wanna try entering the setting the proxy add for the Wii.
Enter proxy.singnet.com.sg (port 8080) into the proxy setting for your Wii.
My Wii does not allow me to access the internet unless i set the proxy.
=)

He is right.

Also, I noticed significant improvement on the internet speed if i also do the 2 things below...

1) use static IP for your Wii....
2) input the user name and password under proxy settings...

Do you know if the channel number affects the connection to the Wii?

Set back the channel to 6, i too using 2wire 2700 gateway. Set the proxy server as they mention, input the username and password, after that shld be fine. For the router, u doesnt need set to DMZ.

Yes for the Wii Singnet needs to have username and password and proxy in the Proxy options.

I'm using my wii connected wirelessly to my netgear modem/router via singnet. Not sure if it will really speed things up but i'm sure we dun have to enter the username and password in te proxy options. At least for my case I dun need to.

Re: Wii Error Codes: 52230 & 51330.

I faced with the same issue also. Managed to get it working after some fiddling around. I am using Dlink DSL2640T wireless router. This is what i did.

1) In the wii console configure the internet connection manually, put in the ssid and wep keys accordingly and assign a static ip address and dns entry. Also put in the proxy server entry (e.g. proxy.singnet.com.sg port:8080, for singnet BB users only, for others please check with your provider)

2) In the wireless router make sure the ssid is not hidden and put the ip address of the wii console into the DMZ. Wii have some problem accessing the internet behind a firewall.

3) After all this you can test your connection, it should connect to your wireless network properly.

4) Last but not least, ENJOY.....................................

proxy2.singnet.com.sg also works.
You only need user and pass if you suscribe to their family filter.

If never input the username and password, one can't connect to the WFC, e.g. mario striker charged online. For wiishop, internet browser all those, shldnt be a problem even without the username and password.

Ah I see... what's the username and password then? Is it the same as the dialup login username and password or is there a universal one for all singnet users?

Should it be your own singnet user and password?

Mine connected fine yesterday night and managed to update my Wii! Did not use any username and password though.
