L2. Some just press, some can press and hold, depending on weapon.

You should try bloodborne first if you haven't already, its easier than the usual souls series, potions more widely available and gameplay is more straightforward.

DS3 is so much easier than BB... so many bonfires and you can use shield to block most attacks, the boss fights are so much easier and you don't have to worry about running out of bloodvials if you keep dying at a certain area. DS3 is probably the easiest game in the soulsborne series.

Re: Dark Souls III

Most enemies break your guard if you turtle, not as effective as the past souls games. The mechanic now with spears is even if you attack with your shield raised, you will still get damage. The first few bosses are the only easy bosses.

True, you dont have to farm souls to buy vials anymore, but the estus count is definitely much lower than the max 20 you get in bb.

Now i'm forced to fight him. He keeps coming at me relentlessly.

I think you can go to the sewers in the undead settlement, find velka's statue and absolve your sins.

Most enemies don't break your guard if you block, only a few enemies do that, and overall I found the bosses in DS3 much easier, yes especially the first few bosses, which matters more because the first part of the game in souls series is usually a lot more difficult due to lack of resources and not knowing where to go/what to do. I think I died less than 10 times in total to all bosses on my first play thru. Estus count is pretty much irrelevant since bonfires are so plentiful in DS3, there are way too many of them in DS3, some of them barely a minute's travel away from the next one.

Magic did get stuffed big time though, most spells do laughable dmg even with high investment in int/faith, the only useful spells are the ones that give you self buff, I like the faith spell that lets you tank another hit when you die.
