Re: Xbox360 FAQ

Hi all, I have a question.

What's the point of connecting the X360 to a Windows PC? From what I can gather, it just allows the streaming of movies and music through the X360 via Windows Media Centre. This seems utterly pointless to me, as I can already play the media on my PC in the first place. Why would I want to turn on my PC, X360, and a TV at the same time for that? It's a waste of energy.

The media cannot be copied to the X360 HDD, and even if it can be copied, the X360 has limits to what kind of formats it can run, unlike my PC. I also don't think that many people would have a BD drive in their PC but lack a HD display or monitor, which might necessitate streaming through the X360's HD connection. This whole thing just seems like a poorly-thought out gimmick on Microsoft's end which adds no real-world value to the X360.

If there are any other uses or functions to the connection that I missed, please enlighten me. Thanks.

The HDD is selling for about $170 in Singapore but I noticed that on the adverts here, Focalprice from US is selling for about US$50 only. Is the US HDD compatible with the one locally?

Thanks.
rather queer that you took 6 months to setup your xbox.

anyway, all harddisks are universal. there's no region lock harddisk one le. quite a strange question i must say.

Re: Xbox360 FAQ

My new MS rechargeable batt pack not charging fully even after few hours.
Suppose to have a light on the charging cable when it's charging the batt? Mine sometimes no light even after few tries.

Yes. I gave up on the MS batt pak and use the Energizer rechargeable AA that could last longer.

The Energizer 2xAA equals 4900mAh and I got better deal from a sales offer with two extra free batt.

$1 for 1 month was only for 1st month i presume? Otherwise should just continue...

Was it easy getting thru to terminate the autorenewal?

yea, just for 1 month. if can continue for another $1, that would be real nice of microsoft. heh

quite easy to get through. i think their call centres were routed to china. a lot of verfication questions asked. think microsoft got qc their china callcentres. the lady i spoke to, her english was good enough. better than india call centres.
