Do match ratings matter?

Have been playing VP for sometime and some people have differing opinions about match rating. Some think having a high rating means you played well. Vice versa. What do you guys think?

Match ratings can be a indication to show whether you are playing your post well.

For example if you are a C.B(Centre Back) and you successfully tackle a ball or block a shot, you get a rating increase during the game.. But if the GK lets in a goal be it your fault or not, your ratings decrease.. Basically you are suppose to maintain a clean sheet..

IMO, ratings are important to a extend.. Some teams play different style, it may require you to be a RW(Right Winger) but you can even run to the left wing for a build-up play.. What matters in competitive club match is that the team wins..

In pro ranked match however, you can see individual player ratings, some people choose to 'follow' that rating and see which team has more 7.0+, they tend to go over that team

I don't believe FIFA ratings. It mostly benefits attackers n scorers/ final touch assister/dribbles/ those with most ball times.

Yes defenders get rating for tackles but some players style is more sweeping type n will end up less tackles even. Add to the manual tackle now its even harder to get a foot In & most would't want to commit easily too.

Then how well a dm do also most probably won't match attackers ratings in FIFA so I would say not to take the rating too serious as the rating system does't reward teamwork n iniatives taken but instead penalise.

As long as u know u did well n play unselfishly for the team u dont have to care abt FIFA ratings.

ratings are sometimes unpredictable to judge how good is the player.
you can have 9.9 match ratings but 0/20 passing completion.
