Persona series - worth playing?

I've just tried Persona for PSP, generally i do like their gameplay, especially the function where you can talk to the enemy and they'll give you items according to their mood. And demon fusion where you can create new personas, its pretty cool.
but i kinda find the gameplay a bit repetitive later, with the dull graphics and soundtrack (i find that they seem to use the same song for every battle..)

Persona 3 is coming out - anyone think its better than persona? in terms of graphics, also any new features in the gameplay?

i tried shin megami tensei devil survivor on the DS - is it also part of the persona series?

Shin Megami Tensei series has always been fantastic to me...

I still can't get pass Nocturne which is deem as one of the hardest game...

Persona series always was abit grindy (to level your personnas). Dull graphics and soundtrack cause this is a 13 year old game remade for PSP lol.

Persona 3 is a very good game. It has yet to be announced for American market, the PSP version that is. I recommend playing the PS2 version instead and do note to get the Persona 3: FES edition not the normal edition. Persona 3: FES edition is kind of like a director's cut with a 2nd part of the story which adds about 60% more gameplay.

The Persona 3 PSP version is the equivalent of the normal edition cept you can play as a female character. It will not contain the second part of Persona 3: FES.

Remember to try Persona 4 on the PS2 also. Its arguably better than Persona 3 (but I love both). Alot less depressing than P3 hehe.

Devil Survivor is different from Persona. They are all under the Megami Tensei series. However under this series there are sub-series like Persona, Devil Survivor, Digital Devil Saga, Devil summoner, etc. Yes, it can be very confusing. Either just wikipedia it or just play them all.
