Why should I not play World of Warcraft?
Can anyone tell me what's bad about WoW? Besides the fact I need to pay for it and that I need to spend lotsa time on it?
I am playing MapleSEA now, and I tried out WoW months ago, and I am gradually losing my interest in Maple. I feel like spending my time and money on WoW instead, can anyone give me any reasons not to play this wonderful game? |

i think im better off giving u 10 gd reasons why u should NOT be playing mapleSEA even if u have to go play flash website games.
anyway...like they've said before...if u are involved in the MMORPG scene or consider urself to have played MMORPG before. u gotta try WoW. its gd. Best if u have bunch of friends play with u. |

Tbh, WoW's fun is not the leveling process, its more of the end-game feel . It all comes down to how much time are u willing to devote to playing .
Some may enjoy casual raiding and stuffs though . |

Re: Why should I not play World of Warcraft?
Check the following :
1) Do you enjoy hardcore raiding? 2) Do you enjoy rep grinding? 3) Do you enjoy PvP grinding. Yes, I repeat, PvP grinding? 4) Do you give up on class balancing already or never give a damn about it? 5) Do you find yourself in a very active guild that constantly do arena, BG, instances and raids? If the answer to the 5 questions is a big yes, then WoW is definitely the right game for you to continue to invest your time and money in. You won't regret. ![]() |

Re: Why should I not play World of Warcraft?
Actually I personally find that the answer to the 5th question is the most important. I would not have last 2+ years in WoW and would have quit much earlier if I am not in an active guild that do PvP, instance and raiding regularly.

Re: Why should I not play World of Warcraft?
I'll give a couple of reasons why you'll think it might not be suitable for you.
Raiding in WoW isn't something like you just log in whenever you want and you raid rightaway. It's a long and painful process of getting together a team of like-minded players, strategise, practise and kill bosses in dungeons after dungeons. For those you need to schedule a certain time of the day and have people attend the raid. In other words, commitment. Go read the application forums of successful raiding guilds. Most if not all requires you to submit an application detailing your past WoW raiding experience, character advancement and most importantly, how much time can you commit to raiding (I guarantee you this question appears in every guild's recruitment form). PvP in WoW is getting a lot more attention now and it certainly offers many players who can't commit themselves to the above point something else to do, and also players who love PvP. Again, do not expect to see any advanced ideas or the wonderful things that you might have seen in DaoC but it is a more regulatory alternative to raiding, making item rewards in line with current raid progress. In other words, you have to grind PvP so much in the end you would have spent nearly as much time as you would raiding to get an item on par with the current raid progress. Many people whom have left the game told me about the same thing, saying as "Raiding is like a job". The actual pulling power of the game are the players themselves, I would say 30% content, 70% players. If you have no friends ingame and playing all alone you'll most likely quit very soon. If you have a group of close friends you'll find this game has everything you ever desired for. So be sure to find out where your peeps are before you choose a server ![]() Last edited by Goretex : 21-08-2007 at 08:36 PM. |

Re: Why should I not play World of Warcraft?
coz you pay about S$20-25 a month?
coz you want to have a social life? Contary to what others say though, you can don't raid. A lot of folks I know just level or do instances (regular or 5 man), or when they reach the max level, work on their alts. Even leveling a character to 70 is going to take quite a bit of time. Maybe 2-3 months depending on your pace. |
